ONLINE CLASS: First Draft Forward: Finding your Play Through Revision

Catherine Trieschmann
Monday, August 22 - October 3, except Labor Day, 8-10pm CST
Venue:
Online
Cost:
$300 for members; $350 for non-members (payment plan available upon request)

Do you have an early draft play you don't know what to do with? This class is designed to help playwrights listen to what they've already created and find a vision for moving forward through careful attention to structure, character, theme and style. Through group discussion, reading and re-writing, this class will help you find the play your first draft wants to be. Anyone who has an early draft full-length play to work on may enroll.

The class will meet every Monday, August 22 through October 3, except Labor Day, 8-10 CT.

The only materials needed are an original full-length play and a willingness to read suggested titles from the instructor (to be determined on an individual basis).

Participants will join via webcam through their computers or laptops and will need a strong internet connection and headset or earbuds with microphone (to minimize background noise). There will be a short training session to check everyone's equipment, but it is strongly encouraged that participants be prepared to join in this live and virtual way.
