Here at the Playwrights' Center, we choose to assume good intent among our members and their work. After the death of her mother, retired English professor Jackie wants to recapture the adventures she and her husband Ralph once had. Ralph, a retired biology professor and birder, holds back, fearing that any new stressor might threaten his or Jackie’s health. Together, they navigate bereavement and explore new ways of being together.
