SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

This seminar will focus on how to dig into your inner resources and develop the mental discipline and practices that can help make your life as a writer whole; including the concept of Sacred Space; developing WSOA (writer's success obsession awareness) and improving your creative resiliency along with an expanded view of ‘time management.’

Use of a daily journal, the importance of physical exercise and how to use it to your advantage in problem-solving, why developing a meditation practice and heightened attention to nature can help deal with rejection. Methods on how to develop a daily gratitude practice and ways to become a generous artist.

There will be some suggested reading including selections from Mary Oliver’s Upstream and The War of Art by Steven Pressfield and Sparrow Envy by J. Drew Lanham.

This Is the Seminar for You if You:

  • Are a writer who has banged on the floor and cried while swearing a blue streak when they got the finalist but not the winner email.
  • Are a writer who rarely finds the time to say thank you to the universe as they are too busy worrying about the next hurdle/summit.
  • Are a developing writer wondering how to set up a ‘good’ writing practice and lifelong creative habits.
  • Are a mid Career writer struggling with "is this it?" And "shouldn’t I be somewhere else/better/ in Hollywood?"
  • Are a writer at any level seeking more balance in their life.
What to Expect:
  • Discover what is Sacred Space and how to set it up

NOTE FROM PJ

Elmore Leonard once told me that if you’re a writer you can’t help but write, so better hope you’re a good one. Finding out what that means is the journey.

All of us out here on the creative planes know the struggle of being ‘on a mission’ and how we balance our work with our families, our community and ourselves. After a lifetime of success and failure I have learned a few ways of being that have helped me become a better writer and a better person—this seminar is in gratitude to my allies and spiritual guides.
