In this seminar with Many Voices Fellow Cristina Florencia Castro, participants can expect to practice working on beats of action, characterization, and cold reading scripts. This will be especially helpful for playwrights who have little to no acting experience. There will also be professional actors present to read through scenes. Actors turn characters into flesh and bone, learning about how they approach their characters helps playwrights expand their idea of what "character development" means.

This is the class for you if you:

  • Want to better understand the actor's approach to your script
  • Don't have a lot of experience on the stage
  • Need to mix up writing process

PostScript: Cristina has two audio plays you can listen to right now (through November 30) with Pillsbury House Theatre's Flip the Script The Great Divide IV
