"Tell it. But don't just tell it like it is! Tell it how it should be. How it must be." - A. Peter Bailey

In this seminar with Jerome Fellow Tylie Shider you will identify elements of biography in select plays from the American theatre canon. Participants will discuss best practices for shaping personal narratives into dramatic works. Bring in sections from your diary, journal, or personal accounts you feel gripped by, and are comfortable sharing. Using these excerpts, we will work to shape the sections into dramatic works, as in monologues or soliloquies or ideas for longer plays.

This is the Seminar for you if:

  • You are inspired by history and personal narrative
  • You are interested in oral storytelling
  • You have a story and you think "there's a play in there"

PostScript: Tylie is also a poet, check out some his poetry here.
