General Auditions for the 2023-24 season have passed.

Please read the following carefully before requesting an audition.

The Playwrights' Center develops 60-75 new plays each year, and seeks Minneapolis/St. Paul area actors with daytime availability to be considered for these workshops. We strongly encourage actors who have previously worked at PWC to audition this year, as we have a new casting and producing team. We are looking for actors to cast throughout the year in individual workshops. After general auditions, we will update our database of actors to be considered as roles come up. Most workshops are between 10-25 hour contracts, and almost all are held on weekdays during the day. Please do not request an audition if you do not have daytime availability.

Both equity and non-equity actors are encouraged to audition.

Note that we are not casting for specific roles or projects at this time. After we have seen your audition, we will keep your information on file and be in touch if a role opens up that we think you are a fit for.

Upon arrival, please enter through the front door on Franklin Ave and check in in the upstairs lobby. Please note that any vocal warm-ups will need to be done outdoors or in a vehicle. AEA members must bring proof of AEA membership. You will be asked to read one of the provided sides (see below). Printed copies will be available at check in. Please do not memorize the sides in advance.

If you would like to read the play that the excerpt is taken from, please email casting@pwcenter.org.

PLEASE NOTE: These sides are for audition purposes only. None of the plays represented below will be workshopped this season. You are welcome to choose any of the following sides, even if they don't necessarily match your age, race, or gender. We will have printed copies available for you. Please choose one side to read—if you would like to choose a backup as well you may, in rare cases we may ask for another one.
