In 1966, leading scientists and civic leaders proposed building a cutting-edge city of tomorrow under a climate-controlled geodesic dome in rural Minnesota. The project was called the Minnesota Experimental City and it garnered support and millions in funding from influential politicians including Vice President Hubert Humphrey and Governor Wendell Anderson. Utopia, Minnesota imagines what might have happened if this Silicon Valley under glass had been built in Aitkin County and asks questions about what it means to start fresh.
