Playwrights’ Center

Date/time

April 8 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm CDT

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Pam comes home to Brooklyn to attend her father’s funeral. When she arrives, she is greeted by an angry sister, a dilapidated house, and a harrowing, inescapable past. The two sisters are forced to deal with all that they have let slip away, all the words that have been left unsaid, and whether they can forgive what they cannot bring themselves to forget.

From Gina

Being able to develop THE VIOLET SISTERS in the Ruth Easton Series feels like a homecoming. Playwrights’ Center has been one of my greatest artistic homes, from being a Core Writer to now being an Affiliated Writer, and to be able to develop this next draft with them is a dream come true. I’m excited to dive deeper into the hard questions about cycles and abuse the play explores, and know I can safely do that in this artistic home.

This reading will be recorded and made available to view online April 21-27. You can sign up to watch that recording here.
