SOME AMERICANS: SOME MONOLOGUES, VOLUME 1 is a collection of American voices, rural and urban, low-to-middle class, comedic and dramatic. The characters have their political, cultural, sexual and racial differences, but they all have something in common: they're Americans struggling, questioning, dreaming, and hoping for a better life. There's a drag queen entertaining her 4-year old nephew at a birthday party, a National Guard veteran trying to sell his house, a knight in armor yelling at Klingons, among others. A distinct setting for each monologue: a motel in Nebraska, a Knights of Columbus in Iowa, a Cosplay convention, a Renaissance Fair, a front yard in Arizona, and a park in Flint, Michigan. These six monologues are active and physical, many of them have audience participation!
