A sense of humor is the one thing no one will admit to not having.” – Mark Twain

Everyone thinks they’re at least a little amusing (or, at minimum, able to laugh), but what is it specifically that tickles your funny bone? In this seminar, with Jerome Fellow Cristina Luzárraga, we will explore how to distill your point of view and mine those personal truths that make for a distinct comedic voice. We will also discuss how to generate comedy imbued with pathos and how to balance seriousness with lightheartedness in a way that keeps audiences engaged and entertained.

This is the Seminar for you if:

  • You want to write a comedic play
  • You value your "sense of humor"
  • You are curious about the mechanics of comedy

PostScript: Cristina's play La Mujer Barbuda (Finalist, 2018 Princess Grace Award) is based on a 17th century painting of the same name.
