The Playwrights' Center is thrilled to offer this 8-week class with writer, showrunner, and executive producer Karl Gajdusek.

The most difficult and nuanced act in the creation of a TV series is coming up with a truly good concept for the series. Ideas that shine on day one often tarnish with time and investigation. Ideas that should speak to the moment often don't do more than that. Beautiful character stories just won't get-up-and-go and bad-ass action ideas can't find a soul to save themselves. The beautiful series that someone effortlessly does it all is the unicorn of our industry. Let's go unicorn hunting.

In this class, participants will work together to come up with a series they love and believe the world will want to take in. They'll move from broad conception to detail, to pitch & bible. Along the way, they'll touch on Format documents, decks, sizzles, etc... and develop those as well.

By the end of the class, each participant will have a series ready to bring to market.

Important Things to Note:

  • 8 Sessions over 8 weeks
  • Class is limited to 6 participants and will be in-person only.
