SUMMARY:LOCAL MEMBER OPEN PLAY: Federico\, My Love by Carla Solari
DESCRIPTION:This Member Open Play session is an in-person\, ticketed event at \nPlaywrights’ Center: \n710 Raymond AveSaint Paul\, MN 55114 \nPlease use the sign up link below to RSVP. Be sure to reserve your spot in advance! \nFederico\, My Love by Carla Solari \nAn actress invokes the presence of poet and playwright Federico García Lorca to journey through his life\, his work\, and his legacy.\n \nIn an imaginary dialogue with him\, she brings to life the women of his plays and\, in embodying them\, gradually reveals her own story.\n \nThe protagonist moves between admiration and the need to define herself in the face of an impossible and symbolic love: the love for Federico as love for poetry\, for one’s own voice\, and for freedom.\n \nThe play intertwines Lorca’s artistic universe with his personal story: his love for women\, his silenced homosexuality\, and his assassination by the fascist Franco regime.\n \nFederico\, My Love is both a personal tribute to an artist who transformed theatre and defied the norms of his time\, and the journey of a contemporary woman who\, in finding him\, ultimately finds herself.\n \nIs this script right for you? \nThe play contains no content warnings \n GUIDELINES & AGENDA \n*If you have any questions about this Member Open Play\, please reach out to Hannah at hannahj@pwcenter.org
