SUMMARY:LOCAL MEMBER OPEN PLAY: Addie Mae Baker
DESCRIPTION:This Member Open Play session is in-person ONLY at Playwrights’ Center.\nAddie Mae Baker by Stanley Kipper \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe play follows Addie Mae Baker’s journey from the St Joseph’s Home For Children in South Minneapolis\, to the top of the Pop Charts in the mid 1970’s\, and a recording studio in Los Angeles. Addie Mae and Aiyana are seen navigating their way through the male-dominated and drug-fueled music industry of the time. During the recording of Addie’s second album for Colossus Records\, things take an unexpected\, dark and dramatic turn.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIs this script right for you? \nThe play shows drug and alcohol use\, physical violence\, and includes mature language. \nAGENDA FORMAT & GUIDELINES \n*If you have any questions about this local Member Open Play\, please reach out to Hannah\, at hannahj@pwcenter.org
